Human trafficking generates over 32 billion dollars every year making it one over the largest international crime industries in the world. Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children are being sold into slavery every year. Nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty, that's less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty and according to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. There were roughly 1.2 million abortions performed in 2008, and the abortion rate was 20 per 1,000 women aged 15–44. Currently, there are approximately 500,000 children in foster care in the United States. It’s estimated that 120,000 are eligible for adoption.
